Ok, I’m leaving work at 5 p.m., I have an appointment at 5:30 p.m., then I can try to make it to the 6 p.m. CrossFit class, then I can get gas and pick up my prescription on the way home…crap, what are we doing for dinner?
This is pretty much what goes through my head daily. Sound familiar? It’s not mystery that we live in a gogogo society, trying to fit in everything in a short amount of time. And while we always try to make time to cook a delicious yet nutritious dinner or pre pack a healthy lunch, truth is it doesn’t always happen.
Jon and I have gotten pretty good about cooking at home, and thankfully we’re fans of leftovers. But usually once a week we’re both not in the mood to cook and there’s nothing in the fridge. And that’s where take out comes in. Our choices are usually Taco Bus, King and I, chinese or pizza. Not exactly good for us stuff. But it’s cheap and it’s easy. Every now and then I’ll trek over to Fresh Market or Rollin’ Oats if it’s in the neighborhood, but their take away items can get kind of pricey.
Fitlife Foods solves all of those problems. They offer freshly made, all natural indulgent meals in ready to go containers. Just walk in the store, choose your meals, check out and be on your merry way. You can get your meals a la carte, or you can sign up for their Project U program or sign up for a Member Meal Account. Fitlife Foods gives you plenty of options to fit in with your goals and schedules.
And the food? Delicious. No cardboard tastes here. Fitlife Foods wants to make sure people know that healthy doesn’t mean boring and tasteless. They have everything from breakfast meals to chili to salads to mac and cheese.
I first visited Fitlife Foods in Tampa when I went on the Chevy Fit 4 Life Tour. I thought it was a great concept and was disappointed they didn’t have a location in St. Pete. Until I saw their sign appear one day next to Yogurtology on 4th St. North.
They officially open on Monday, January 28, but they had a soft opening yesterday. From 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. friends and family got to visit the new store and get a free small meal of their choice.
I went around 5 p.m. and they were busy…they even had a few news cameras there!
Look who I ran into! Hi Lora!
It took me awhile to choose what meals I wanted. I planned on buying one meal for Jon to try too and I kept going back and forth on selections. Eventually I ended up with the Chicken Gyro and the Feel Good Chicken Tenders. When I checked out they were nice enough to let me have both meals for free, plus a free cookie! If I had bought the meals though, my wallet would still have been happy. With a price tag of $6.95 for the gyro and $6.45 for the tenders their meals don’t break the bank.
One of my favorite things about Fitlife is on the side of the calories. They have 4 different sizes in meals (one size, small, medium and large) so you can choose what’s right for you. And the calories are listed on the container as well.
I had my Chicken Gyro for lunch today and it is mmm mmm good!
And my cookie sample.
So happy to have Fitlife Foods here in St. Pete now…I’ll definitely be a frequent customer!
