Happy Friday! Hope everyone has had a great week! It’s been busy around here so let’s rewind a little…
Last Saturday I joined some friends for a Cinco de Derby party.
Cinco de Mayo + The Kentucky Derby = Best Party Theme Ever
There was seersucker, Derby hats, cute dresses, burritos, queso…
And mint juleps!
I think I’ve finally developed a taste for bourbon 😉
That night I stayed in. I was due for some “me” time (I’m such an introvert). I spent most of the night buried in my Junior League board notebook, studying bylaws and standing rules. Call me crazy, but I loved it. I’m so glad to have such knowledge about our League!
Sunday I drove down to Palmetto to see one of my besties graduate!
My friend Tamsyn graduated with her second bachelors magna cum laude!
Her boyfriend and aunt had rented a house on Anna Maria Island for the weekend so we headed back there for drinks, food and sunshine.
We took a (very short) walk to the beach.
Nothing but sand!
Lovely way to end the weekend.
Jon and I had two lovely date nights this week on his days off.
The first was to the Rays game on Wednesday.
We had dinner at The Burg, a local favorite of ours, and walked to the stadium.
Rays won 10-4! Jon said he’s good luck because every game he’s gone to they’ve won 🙂
And yesterday we had a lovely night at home. We planned to grill out at a nearby park, but we realized we wouldn’t be eating until after sunset and the park closes at sunset. So we opted for the deck by our condo’s pool.
Maddie enjoyed locking eyes with many a lizard.
It was dark by the time we ate so no photos of our meal, but it was epic. Grilled ribeye, grilled baked potatoes (with sour cream, chives and bacon) and grilled asparagus. Mmm mmm mmm…I am for sure a meat and potatoes kinda gal.
I had a grueling workout at CrossFit earlier (which will be shared in my next post) so I was pretty much out like a light once we went back upstairs.
Looking forward to a fun weekend! I hope to make Mother’s Day for my mom special…we’re seeing a show on Saturday, but no concrete plans yet for Sunday. I told her we can do whatever she likes!
What are your Mother’s Day plans?
